Being a pragmatist, I take a solution-oriented approach that, to the extent possible, seek a win-win situation for the parties involved.
I embrace change and see opportunities in threats – but I understand not all are so amenable to change. Even with all the advances in technology, all it has done is create new channels of human to human interaction. My view is that no individual, organisation, business or could be successful in isolation; in the various roles that I have played I balance the need to consult, collaborate and socialize view points with pragmatic progress towards goals.
In this age of exponential pace of technological change the ability to rapidly adapt and respond to change is critical to success. I believe creativity is fundamental to what it means to be human. Most of all, I find conventional thinking boring; I firmly believe success usually doesn’t come from more of the same; and that is applied in everything that I do.
My believes here are grounded on simplicity: resource scarcity is a fundamental economic principle – strategy is about consciously choosing what to give up in the face of multiple seemingly viable alternatives to pursue an advantage and carrying this choice through to execution into every single future decision. Even though I’ve contributed to strategy development and execution starting from the time I was a help desk team-lead, it wasn’t until recently that I was provided with an opportunity to lead and drive strategy extinction from end-to-end. In 2015, I developed and executed an enterprise sourcing strategy as well as supporting and managing the ongoing governance and new services engagements of two major global IT services partners and 1 major cloud infrastructure service provider (portfolio exceeds $50M p.a. spend).
I’ve had over 5 years experience in a customer service environment. I started from being at the front-lines as customer service representative in a call centre environment, developing into a team-lead that lead a number of other CSRs in resolving customer dissatisfaction to being in an analyst role advising on customer sentiments/ proposing product enhancements.
The analyst roles are a natural progression from the administrative, process oriented tasks in my early career. I have proven capability in analysis as demonstrated by:
- Completing financial data analysis, producing trend/ insight reports or price modelling and bench-marking;
- Establishing ITIL based service catalogue
- Designing, measuring and reviewing key performance indicators and service levels
I consider this as a basic skill that is fundamental to success in any environment. I able to empathize of the needs and motivations with others whether they be customers, managers, team members or vendors. I have proven ability to effectively convey complex concepts to senior stakeholders, strengthening relationships as a trusted advisor.
